Feeding a species appropriate diet provides the nourishment that a canine needs. You can expect to see firmer, smaller stools because more of what your dog eats will be absorbed rather than eliminated. A raw diet is moisture dense so your dog will need to drink less water. You should see less shedding and a shinier, healthier coat. Depending on the breed and length of coat, you will likely see your dog trim down and add muscle, have more energy and possibly appear calmer and more confident.

A raw diet for your dog is based on the fact that domesticated canines belong to the Canis Lupus family of wolves, foxes and coyotes, all of which are carnivores. Dogs are classified as Canis Lupus Familiaris, which literally means; The Domesticated Canine, or simply that they are canines friendly to humans. Dogs, like other members of their classification, have an instinctual desire to hunt and consume whole prey. Feeding your dog nutritionally complete raw meals is catering the prey they would otherwise have to hunt and capture. Perhaps the most telling evidence for the dietary habits of dogs is, what dogs eat when left to their own devices.
