The RAwsome Meals Story
On January 4th, 2017 I flew back to Los Angeles with Ginger, my first dog since childhood. She'd been a companion to a dog that ate his kibble. Following his example she ate enough to stay alive, but lived with runny stools. Without her kibble-eating companion Ginger wouldn’t touch kibble, no matter the brand or price paid. I tried a bunch of whacky suggestions I found online, but before long she'd lost so much weight she looked like a hungry stray. I thought I was out of options until I discovered the documentary, Pet Fooled, which introduced me to species-appropriate nutrition. I bought the ingredients and made meals from scratch in an effort to include the most essential parts found in whole prey. My recipes added muscle, reduced shedding, firmed up Ginger’s stools, and best of all she loved her meals. But, even though my dog was now eating right, she suffered intermittent bouts of colitis. I was told by a medical professional that nothing could be done. I couldn't accept that. So I took a deeper dive into canine nutrition and discovered that fermented foods were the missing element. Research demonstrated that fermented greens are ideal because they provide fiber, which is one reason why dogs eat grass. But raw apple cider vinegar with mother also works to create a healthy gut, aid digestion and promote general wellness. Now, almost 7, Ginger has the physique and energy of a much younger dog. If your pet deserves optimal health, youth and vitality, feed RAwsome Meals.
